The challenge
Kidde Global Solutions needed a solution capable of presenting complex security systems at international trade shows and events in a clear, contextualised and scalable way.
Many of their products are integrated into infrastructure such as railway stations, museums, office buildings, energy facilities and other critical environments. Physically displaying devices could show the product, but did not always make it easy to understand installation, operation and integration within a complete system.
The goal was to bring that technical context into the exhibition space without relying on large physical builds or the availability of real installations.
The solution
Visualife, together with its partner VRMax, developed an Extended Reality experience ecosystem that combines Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality and Augmented Reality.
Through Meta Quest headsets, visitors can access immersive recreations of real installations and explore how Kidde systems integrate into each environment. The experiences make it possible to identify locations, components, relationships between devices and operating principles within a complete installation.
The proposition was later expanded with Mixed Reality showrooms. In these spaces, users can interact directly with virtual products and panels using their own hands, without controllers. They can open housings, press buttons, inspect internal components and simulate simple operations with virtual tools.
The solution is completed with Augmented Reality experiences accessible from mobile devices. Via QR codes on technical sheets, catalogues or promotional materials, users can view products in 3D, rotate them, enlarge them and consult interactive information.
This approach extends the experience beyond the event and makes it easier to share the information afterwards with technical teams, sales teams and decision-makers.

An integrated production model
Kidde provides the 3D models of its products and Visualife, together with VRMax, handles their processing, optimisation and integration into the various XR environments.
The process includes adapting geometries, materials and textures, preparing assets for immersive and mobile devices, and developing the interactions required for each experience.
This workflow is already embedded across the teams, which makes it possible to reuse assets, reduce development times and adapt content to different markets, countries, events and group brands such as Aritech, Edwards, Airsense, GST and Kidde Commercial.
From a local activation to an international rollout
The collaboration began with an experience for a local trade fair and evolved progressively into a project of international reach.
Kidde currently has more than ten Virtual Reality headsets deployed across its commercial network in different markets. This infrastructure allows its teams to use the experiences repeatedly at trade shows, demos, presentations and sales activities in various countries.
The solutions developed have been used at events such as SICUR 2026 in Madrid, FeuerTrutz 2026 in Nuremberg and Fire Safety & Security Event 2026 in Den Bosch, as well as activations in Seville and two events in Palm Beach, United States. One of these was especially important for positioning and presenting the Edwards brand in the US market.
This evolution confirms the model’s ability to scale, distribute internationally and adapt to different commercial, technical and brand contexts.

Applications beyond the trade-show floor
Although the project began as a demonstration and lead-generation tool for trade shows, Kidde has started to identify additional applications within the organisation. The same assets and environments can be used for:
- Remote technical training.
- Remote sales demonstrations.
- Product presentation and knowledge.
- Collaboration between international teams.
- Exploration of installations.
- Review of configurations and concepts.
- Support for engineering processes.
The result
Kidde has moved from presenting products in isolation to demonstrating its systems within complete operational environments.
The solution developed by Visualife and VRMax has turned XR into a scalable tool for technical communication, commercial demonstration, training and internal collaboration.
What began as a one-off activation has become an international line of work, backed by its own headset network and a roadmap aimed at progressively integrating Extended Reality into new areas of the organisation.
Extended Reality makes it possible to centralise technical content, reduce travel, reuse digital assets and facilitate access to product experiences from different locations.
