The challenge
Kidde Global Solutions needed a solution capable of presenting complex safety systems at international trade fairs and events in a clear, contextualised and scalable way.
A large part of its products are integrated into infrastructure such as railway stations, museums, office buildings, energy facilities and other critical environments. Physical product displays made it possible to show the product, but did not always help visitors understand its installation, operation and integration within a complete system.
The objective was to bring that technical context into the exhibition space without relying on large physical installations or access to real-world facilities.
The solution
Visualife, together with its partner VRMax, developed an ecosystem of Extended Reality experiences combining Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality and Augmented Reality.
Using Meta Quest headsets, visitors can access immersive recreations of real installations and explore how Kidde systems are integrated into each environment. The experiences allow users to identify locations, components, device relationships and operating principles within a complete installation.
The proposal was later expanded with Mixed Reality showrooms. In these spaces, users can interact directly with products and virtual panels using their own hands, with no controllers required. They can open casings, press buttons, inspect internal components and simulate simple operations with virtual tools.
The solution is completed with Augmented Reality experiences accessible from mobile devices. By scanning QR codes included in technical sheets, catalogues or promotional materials, users can view products in 3D, rotate and enlarge them, and access interactive information.
This approach extends the experience beyond the event and makes it easier for the information to be shared afterwards with technical teams, commercial teams and decision-makers.

An integrated production model
Kidde provides the 3D models of its products, and Visualife, together with VRMax, handles their processing, optimisation and integration into the different XR environments.
The process includes adapting geometries, materials and textures, preparing the assets for immersive and mobile devices, and developing the interactions required for each experience.
This workflow is already integrated between the teams, making it possible to reuse assets, reduce development times and adapt the content to different markets, countries, events and group brands such as Aritech, Edwards, Airsense, GST and Kidde Commercial.
From a local activation to an international rollout
The collaboration began with an experience for a local trade fair and gradually evolved into a project with international reach.
Kidde currently has more than ten Virtual Reality headsets deployed across its commercial network in different markets. This infrastructure allows its teams to use the experiences repeatedly at trade fairs, demonstrations, presentations and sales activities in different countries.
The solutions developed have been used at events such as SICUR 2026 in Madrid, FeuerTrutz 2026 in Nuremberg and the Fire Safety & Security Event 2026 in ’s-Hertogenbosch, as well as activations in Seville and two events in Palm Beach, United States. One of them was especially important for the positioning and presentation of the Edwards brand in the US market.
This evolution confirms the model’s ability to scale, roll out internationally and adapt to different commercial, technical and brand contexts.
Applications beyond the trade fair environment
Although the project was born as a demonstration and lead-generation tool for trade fairs, Kidde has begun to identify additional applications within the organisation.
The same assets and environments can be used for:
-
Remote technical training.
-
Remote sales demonstrations.
-
Product presentation and product knowledge.
-
Collaboration between international teams.
-
Exploration of installations.
-
Review of configurations and concepts.
-
Support for engineering processes.
Extended Reality makes it possible to centralise technical content, reduce travel, reuse digital assets and make product experiences accessible from different locations.
The result
Kidde has moved from presenting products in isolation to demonstrating its systems within complete operational environments.
The solution developed by Visualife and VRMax has turned XR into a scalable tool for technical communication, sales demonstrations, training and internal collaboration.
What began as a one-off activation has been consolidated as an international workstream, supported by its own headset network and a roadmap aimed at progressively integrating Extended Reality into new areas of the organisation.
